Description:

The Pediatrician is responsible for the comprehensive care of patients in the Children’s Pediatrician & Associates practices including appropriate documentation and reporting where required and needed; supervision of assigned clinical and non‑clinical staff; and participation in assigned administrative & quality improvement activities and regularly scheduled provider meetings.

This is a PRN position.

Qualifications
  • Minimum Education
    :
    Medical Doctor (M.D.) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (D.O.) required.
  • Required Skills/Knowledge
    :
    Knowledge of current principles, methods and procedures for the delivery of medical evaluation, diagnosis and treatment in pediatrics; knowledge of legal and ethical standards; ability to function independently; ability to supervise and train; maintain quality, safety, infection control; commitment to continuing professional development.
  • Required Licenses and Certifications
    :
    Fully licensed and credentialed attending staff category physician on the medical staff of Children’s National Medical Center; completion of residency in pediatrics; board eligible or board certified in general pediatrics by American Board of Pediatrics or American Osteopathic Association.
Functional Accountabilities
  • Commitment to World Class Care
    :
    Perform patient care including examinations, tests, procedures, and other functions consistent with accepted standards of care; perform complete physical examinations; analyze reports and investigations to diagnose and formulate prognosis; perform or supervise invasive procedures; prescribe medication and recommend appropriate routines; ensure 24/7 coverage; participate in family‑centered care and communicate professionally.
  • Documentation and Reporting
    :
    Appropriately document findings and procedures in EMR; maintain records; provide timely reports of births, deaths, contagious disease outbreaks; prepare reports, claims, and correspondence as needed.
  • Management and Administrative
    :
    Directly supervise nurses and other personnel; responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, training, assigning work, appraising performance; participate in governance and credentialing, attend at least 50% of related meetings; follow policies; perform other duties as assigned.

Full‑Time Salary Range

150,000 – 450,000
