OB GYN Physician at FQHC

Overview

Elaine Ellis Center of Health has an opportunity for an OB/GYN physician to join our FQHC in providing patient care at our DC and Maryland offices. A successful candidate will have 3-4 years of OB/GYN experience, be eligible for credentialing and privileging to perform GYN procedures at local hospitals, and provide coverage for after-hours call. As an FQHC, we offer loan repayment through the National Health Service Corps, and benefits including 3 weeks of PTO and continuing education support.

• Care for and treat female patients during prenatal, natal and post-natal periods.
• Adhere to approved practice standards and protocols from the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists and DC/Maryland Board of Medicine.
• Explain procedures and discuss test results and prescribed treatments with patients.
• Monitor patients’ condition and progress and re-evaluate treatments as needed.
• Prescribe or administer therapy, medication and other specialized medical care to treat or prevent illness, disease or injury.
• Analyze reports, examination findings and test results to diagnose medical conditions.
• Record and maintain patient information accurately and timely.
• Provide on-call and after hours coverage
• Communicate with and treat patients via telehealth, as appropriate
• Provide education to patients and community members in women’s health
• Refer patients to other providers and specialists as appropriate
• Consult with and provide consulting services to other providers
• Participate in provider meetings and other Center meetings as needed
• Adhere to the Uniform Data System (UDS) productivity standards
• Participate in outreach and offsite programs as assigned
• Attend and participate in teaching and general staff conferences
• Continually update education, therapeutic techniques and methodology; apply new knowledge to your position
• Perform other duties and assist with special projects as assigned

• 3-4 years OB/GYN experience
• Eligible for credentialing and privileging to perform GYN procedures at local hospitals
• Ability to provide coverage for after-hours call
