Architect / Sr. Architect
Overview:
HGA's Education and Arts + Culture markets invite a talented, design-sensitive Project Manager to join our Washington, DC team.

- Collaborate with principals to evaluate project requirements and negotiate owner-architect agreements.
- Demonstrate mastery of scope, schedule, budget and profitability, completing projects on schedule and within budget.
- Negotiate critical issues with owners, contractors, architects, engineers and specialty consultants.
- Utilize technical knowledge to monitor construction documents, providing coaching and communication to team leaders and members responsible for workflow and timelines.
- Develop discipline cost and work-hour budgets, monitoring project costs against budget, schedules and timelines.
- Oversee all correspondence and documents, ensuring accuracy, signatures and legal counsel as appropriate.
- Aid principals and practice group leaders in equitable team building.
- Facilitate integration of sustainable building practices with Project Architects and subject matter experts.
- Coordinate contractor bid review and work with principals for award recommendation.
- Provide day-to-day leadership in absence of principals or Practice Group Leaders, maintaining open communication with office management leaders and preparing client billings for signature.
- Collaborate with Practice Group Leader on project marketing, proposal development, client interviews and mentoring junior staff.
- Bachelor's or Master's (preferred) degree in Architecture.
- Architectural licensure preferred; LEED Accreditation and/or WELL AP is a plus.
- 12+ years of professional experience, including 5 years in project management of complex projects.
- Experience in higher education, health education and/or arts projects.
- Skill working on a variety of project scales.
- Exceptional interpersonal skills and clear communication with team members and clients.
- Ability to lead discussions on scope, budgets and delivery management.
- Proficiency with industry-accepted software and Microsoft Office.
- Proficiency with Revit, AutoCAD, Rhino, Sketch Up and the Adobe suite is beneficial.
Salary Range: $110,800 - $133,200. Compensation will be based on work experience, education, licensure requirements and skill level. Individuals working more than 24 hours a week on a regular basis are eligible for HGA benefit programs including an annual bonus, 401(k) contribution, paid parental leave, medical, dental, life insurance, PTO and disability programs.
