OverviewThe Gensler Summer Fellowship offers unparalleled learning and networking opportunities. Fellows work full‑time and engage with peers on real project work and research to advance the firm’s global initiatives. This is a two‑part application process. Part I is completed here. Part II involves portfolio submission and essay questions—link provided.
What You Will DoAs a Fellow, you will conduct research and thought leadership that supports Gensler’s mission to redefine the future of cities. You will contribute to research initiatives, assisting teams across geography, and presenting findings to senior leadership.
Who We’re Looking ForAmbitious candidates with a design background and a passion for tackling tough problems. We seek students and recent graduates who inspire peers, bring fresh perspectives, and collaborate effectively in dynamic, cross‑regional teams.
Your Qualifications- At least one of the following educational criteria:
- Undergraduate: entering final year (fall 2026) in architecture, interior design, urban design, or related field.
- Graduate: enrolled in a relevant graduate program.
- Recent Graduate: graduated Dec 2025 / Spring 2026 from an accredited program.
- Accredited degree program (NAAB, CIDA, etc.) preferred.
- Professional or educational background in designing the built environment (architecture, interior design, urban design, etc.).
- Interest in research.
- Online portfolio demonstrating design process and innovative solutions (PDF). Must include 3–4 curated samples.
- Strong academic background.
- Excellent communication, interpersonal, and graphic/persuasive writing skills.
- Familiarity with research methodologies and processes.
- Interest in user research, design strategy, and space programming.
- Technical skills: proficiency in Microsoft Office and Adobe Creative Suite; basic skills in AutoCAD and/or Revit; basic 3D/multi‑media technologies beneficial; hand sketching ability a plus.
- Full‑time program running from June 1 through July 31 2026.
- Hourly rate: $23.50–$31.00 based on location and year of study.
- Must be available for entire duration.
- Part I: Submit an online application through Gensler’s careers site, including resume and portfolio.
- Part II: Submit portfolio and 3–4 curated PDF samples along with essay responses. Submissions without portfolio will not be considered; access link provided.
- Both parts remain open until Mid‑March 2026. Applications are reviewed on a rolling basis; positions may fill before posting closes.
