The Vinyl Institute is looking for a dynamic, early‑career communicator to help drive press, digital media, and multimedia storytelling that elevates the vinyl industry and the work of the Vinyl Sustainability Council
.

What You’ll Do
  • Support and execute media relations strategy to position the vinyl industry and VSC positively.
  • Write and distribute press releases, statements, talking points, and media materials.
  • Monitor media coverage + social conversations and recommend proactive and rapid‑response communications.
  • Identify compelling stories and package them for press, podcasts, and digital channels.
  • Produce and edit short‑form video content for social, events, and web.
  • Collaborate on digital content creation and track engagement analytics.
  • Support events with media capture, speaker briefings, and logistics.
  • Build relationships with reporters and trade media across vinyl, plastics, chemical, and manufacturing sectors.
  • Track policy developments and public sentiment to inform communications strategy.
What You Bring
  • 3–5 years’ experience in communications, journalism, digital media, or a related field.
  • Strong writing and editing skills with a knack for clear, compelling messaging.
  • Basic video production skills (camera, lighting, editing software like Premiere or Final Cut).
  • Familiarity with media outreach, podcasts, and social media best practices.
  • Ability to juggle multiple projects in a fast‑paced environment;
    Hill/campaign experience is a plus.
