Al Jazeera English is an award-winning 24-hour international news channel providing international news and current affairs that places people at the heart of the story, rooted in the belief that everyone has a story worth hearing. Through its fearless journalism and renown programming, it tells authentic stories about people everywhere, without geographical or cultural prejudice.

We are seeking outstanding, experienced journalists who are comfortable reporting from anywhere in the world, often at short notice. You will be responsible for originating ideas, developing stories and sourcing video. You will have a strong story-telling technique, produce well-crafted scripts and have experience of live reporting. This role also includes working in the newsroom, contributing to news bulletins, whether in the form of in-house news packages or scripts in the running orders.

• Ensure content is consistent with Aljazeera standards and goals.
• Originate and develop news and strands.
• Report and produce from the field.
• Attend editorial meetings and offer story and coverage ideas.
• Read news wires, other news services, and news from network feeds for potential stories.
• Gather leads for possible stories from reporters, news bureaus and in-house journalists.

• Minimum Bachelor Degree in Journalism, Media, Communication or other related fields.
• Minimum 10 years of professional experience in writing, producing and reporting in a newsroom as a journalist.
• Knowledge in current affairs, global issues & TV production and technology.
