WC Smith is seeking an experienced Events and Programming Assistant to join the events team at The Collective, in the Capitol Riverfront/Navy Yard in Washington, DC. This individual will be responsible for assisting and planning resident events, athletic and building programs, and more! With the dynamic nature of the events world, this role requires night, weekend, and holiday work flexibility. The person in this role will spend this time with the residents of The Collective, DC.

PRIMARY

RESPONSIBILITIES
  • Assist with planning, scheduling, and executing resident events, classes, and community activations.
  • Support event logistics, including vendor communication, equipment setup and breakdown, space preparation, and on‑site operations.
  • Maintain event inventory and ensure appropriate supplies and materials are available.
  • Track event and class attendance, engagement metrics, and resident feedback.
  • Produce event flyers, graphics, digital materials, and promotional collateral in alignment with brand standards.
  • Utilize Google Forms & Docs, Adobe Creative Suite, Canva, and other design platforms to generate high‑quality content.
  • Support email marketing campaigns.
  • Maintain event listings, calendars, and communication boards across the property.
  • Assist with capturing and organizing photo and video content for internal and external use.
  • Coordinate fitness classes, instructors, schedules, and specialty programming.
  • Assist with equipment checks, room readiness, signage, and communication with residents.
  • Support vendor interaction for fitness programming, including scheduling, communication, and ensuring vendor compliance with property policies.
  • Support communication to residents and internal teams regarding programming and updates.
REQUIREMENTS
  • At least two years of experience in events, hospitality, or programming, preferably in residential management.
  • Proficiency in Canva, Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign), and email marketing platforms (e.g., Mailchimp).
  • Strong organizational, multitasking, and time‑management skills.
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to work evening, holiday, and weekend shifts as needed for events.
  • Ability to lift at least twenty‑five pounds and assist with event setup.
  • Familiarity with social media, content creation, or digital scheduling tools.
