Overview

Camp Arena Stage, Arena Stage's multi-arts summer day camp for youth ages 8 to 15, seeks warm, energetic and creative accompanists to help provide a summer of unforgettable arts experiences for campers. Accompanists play piano for the vocal performance and musical theater classes, planned and taught by an instructor. Accompanists also accompany camper and staff performances at the daily Noontime Show.

Accompanists serve as group leaders for a small group of campers and participate fully in all camp events.

Responsibilities
  • Accompany four music/musical theater activities (Dailies) each day, Monday through Friday, and assist the instructor as necessary
  • Accompany campers as needed during Noontime Show performances
  • Lead a one-time, 50-minute Choice activity each day. These "one-shots" do not have to be arts related and can be done in cooperation with another staff member
  • Serve as a Group Leader for a small group of campers or assist with drop off/pick up or equivalent role at camp as assigned
  • Share in the rotation to plan Noontime Shows in cooperation with a counselor-in-training or staff member
  • Participate in a week of training prior to camp
  • Participate in one Saturday clean-up on August 8
  • Attend weekly faculty meetings on Thursdays from 4:15-5:00 p.m.
  • Participate fully in all camp events and activities including the Arts Extravaganza on Thursday, July 23
  • Maintain a safe, positive, nurturing environment for all at Camp Arena Stage

Qualifications

Excellent sight reading is a must; familiarity with popular and musical theater vocal repertoire is preferred; collaboration skills; experience working with young people

Time commitment

Six weeks, full-time from June 29 through August 8, 2026. Monday
- Friday (one clean-up Saturday). 8:30 am-4:30 pm

Compensation

Competitive, based on experience.
