Overview
Civil Construction Flagger
Central Southern Construction is seeking reliable and safety-focused Construction Flaggers to support roadway and highway projects, including federal and state DOT work.
Position SummaryFlaggers are responsible for controlling traffic through construction zones to protect workers, the public, and equipment. This role is critical on active roadway projects and requires attention, communication, and adherence to safety standards.
Responsibilities- Control traffic using signs, flags, and hand signals per project requirements
- Set up and maintain traffic control devices in accordance with MUTCD standards
- Communicate clearly with equipment operators, crew members, and motorists
- Maintain a safe work zone at all times
- Follow all jobsite safety rules and federal/state regulations
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Valid driver s license
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in traffic environments
- Strong situational awareness and communication skills
- Flagger Certification (ATSSA, State DOT, or equivalent)
- OSHA 10-Hour Construction Certification (required or must obtain)
- Knowledge of MUTCD traffic control standards (preferred)
- Must be eligible to work on federal-aid highway projects
- Ability to pass background and/or drug screening if required by project
- Willingness to work varying hours, including nights or weekends as needed
