A well-established construction subcontractor with more than 70 years in business is hiring a Junior Estimator for its Rockville, Maryland office. The firm is the largest commercial subcontractor of its kind in the DMV market by volume and works with a long list of repeat clients built through decades of consistent performance and long-term relationships. Their projects range from commercial offices, schools, hotels, airports, and multifamily buildings.
The estimating and preconstruction team includes senior leadership with long tenure at the company and a strong history of developing people internally. The organization has a proven track record of promoting from within, and over time this role offers a clear path to increased responsibility and potential leadership opportunities.
This position is designed for someone early in their career and is focused on long-term development rather than prior experience. Experience is not required, though one to two years of exposure to construction or estimating is helpful. Strong college graduates are encouraged to apply.
Key Responsibilities- Assist with bid preparation, quantity takeoffs, and pricing
- Support senior estimators and preconstruction leadership throughout the estimating process
- Review drawings, specifications, and bid documents
- Learn estimating software, internal processes, and subcontractor pricing
- Participate in pre-bid meetings and project reviews
This is a fully in-office role based in Rockville, Maryland, with hands-on training provided.
