Overview
Our Washington, DC office has an excellent opportunity for a Senior Cost Estimator. This position will be working on a $260M project with one of the top design firms in the US.
Responsibilities- Working at Project Office with AE Team - Great site experience
- Cost Estimates for reconciliation with General Contractor - self performed work
- Change Order Estimation
- Change Order Management
- Work on jobsite office 3 days per week
- Other 2 days flexible - home or office

We are seeking a highly organized, detail-oriented individual who is bright, enthusiastic, and works comfortably in a team environment. This is an excellent opportunity for a mid- to senior-level estimator with a strong background in commercial, institutional, government, and transportation sector architectural and engineering design projects. The selected candidate will be an integral part of our project management team, supervising technical personnel and overseeing all project phases.
We will rely on this individual to provide quality care and responsiveness to client needs, proactively manage projects, cocompany goals, vision, and financial stewardship, and be a leader in managing and mentoring a team of cost estimators.
- Review and Analyze Contractor cost proposals
- Review and Prepare cost related Change Order documentation
- Prepare estimates and estimate reports
- Review and Negotiate costs items with Contractor
- Review Monthly Contractor Payment Applications
- Review contractor reports
- BA or BS preferred
- 7+ years of work experience
- Knowledge in some or all of the following areas: civil/site construction; foundations; structural systems; finishes; interior and exterior building wall systems; and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Ability to oversee, work in and organize teams
- Ability to operate as a "stand-alone" estimator and complete projects with minimal guidance
- Ability to use estimating software
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, especially MS Excel
- Ability to use or quickly learn project management software
- Excellent problem-solving abilities

Education:
Bachelor's degree in Construction Management or other related field preferred
Experience:
7+ years in the architecture/engineering/construction (A/E/C) industry
