Position Overview

Superintendents at GCS-SIGAL are responsible for the overall field work on our projects, ensuring that company policies and procedures are met regarding safety, scheduling, budget, quality, and customer satisfaction.

• Actively maintain a safe work environment and enforce quality control policies
• Creatively solve challenges that arise on projects with a positive attitude
• Communicate clearly & effectively to clients and subcontractors on the status of the project
• Plan, coordinate, and manage job site logistics
• Maintain a clear understanding of how daily operations affect project milestones
• Thorough understanding of contract documents
• Conduct weekly contractor meetings
• Maintain daily reports and documentation using Procore
• Create, manage, and update the project schedule
• Create and implement contingency plans as necessary
• Communicate schedule status, updates, and changes to project stakeholders
• Oversee project quality plan
• Resolve jurisdictional disputes

• BS or MS degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field
• 5-10 years of experience on $5+ million interior projects in a superintendent role, or
• A combination of education and experience sufficient to succeed as a Superintendent

• Excel at teamwork
• Be able to effectively communicate in person, on the phone, and via email
• Focus on achieving results
• Proven ability to multi-task in deadline-driven environment
• Knowledgeable of principles of architecture, engineering, and construction
• Strong documentation skills
• Ability to read specifications, plans, and details
• Working knowledge of Procore or similar construction project management software
• Working knowledge of construction safety protocols
• Proficiency in all division of work, methods, materials, scheduling, and cost control
• Proficient with Microsoft Office suite
• Experience interfacing with clients, architects, owners, and subcontractors
