Position SummaryULTRA Company is seeking a seasoned Director of Business Development to expand our market presence, drive revenue growth, and cultivate strategic relationships with prime contractor companies serving federal and state government agencies and Senior Living verticals. The ideal candidate will have demonstrated success selling SCIF/TEMPEST facilities, and secure facility projects, deep familiarity with the senior living marketplace and existing network relationships across the Government and the DMV (DC, Maryland, Virginia) region.
Key Responsibilities- Lead business development strategy and execution for targeted segments, including secure facilities (SCIF/IC and DoD contractors) construction projects.
- Identify, prospect, and close new business opportunities while maintaining and growing relationships with existing clients.
- Establish and nurture executive-level relationships with federal agencies, prime contractors, commercial property owners, and senior living organizations.
- Collaborate with internal leadership (estimating, operations, project management) to align market insights with service offerings and capture strategic opportunities.
- Represent ULTRA Company at industry events, professional associations, conferences, and networking functions across the DMV region and nationally.
- Track and report on business development pipelines, sales performance metrics, and market intelligence.
- Bachelor’s degree in business, Sales & Marketing, Construction Management, Engineering, or related field; MBA or advanced degree is a plus.
- Minimum 10+ years of progressive business development, or sales leadership experience within construction, architectural/building systems, secure facilities, government contractors, or related sectors.
- Established relationships and proven success selling SCIF projects and/or secure facility construction for prime contractors serving government agencies.
- Demonstrated experience and network within the Senior Living construction market.
- Strong negotiation and presentation skills with ability to influence executive stakeholders and client decision-makers.
- Strategic thinker with analytical skills and data-driven approach to sales/marketing pipeline management.
- Willingness to travel as needed for client engagement, industry events, and site visits.
- Existing network with prime contractors serving Intelligence Community (IC), Department of Defense (DoD), GSA, or real estate developers.
- Experience with capture planning, proposal leadership, and CRM systems.
- Proven track record of exceeding revenue and growth targets in competitive markets.
