The Person alized Medicine Coalition (PMC), representing a membership of 200+ innovators, scientists, patients, providers, and payers, promotes the understanding and adoption of personalized medicine concepts, services, and products to benefit patients and the health system. Personalized medicine is an evolving field in which physicians use diagnostic tests to determine which medical treatments will work best for each patient. By combining the data from those tests with an individual’s medical history, circumstances, and values, health care providers can develop targeted treatment and prevention plans.
The Director of Membership and Development is responsible for helping drive the Coalition’s membership growth, sponsorship revenue, and stakeholder engagement – ultimately being the primary organizational contact and operations behind member engagement, including dues processing and other revenue-generating opportunities. Reporting to the President and CEO, this individual contributes to the design and execution of PMC’s member acquisition, retention, and stewardship strategies and helps oversee its annual revenue portfolio.
The Director plays a key role in ensuring that PMC’s mission is supported through sustainable, diversified revenue streams and strong relationships with PMC members across industry, academia, and advocacy.
- Strengthen and evolve PMC’s value proposition through consistent engagement with 200+ members across diverse healthcare stakeholder groups, including policy leaders, biopharma, diagnostics, providers, patients, and payers.
- Maintain and continuously develop a strong pipeline of prospective members by identifying, qualifying, and cultivating new organizations aligned with PMC’s mission and strategic priorities.
- Ensure an exceptional member experience through onboarding, communications, and awareness of engagement opportunities, including working groups and leadership councils.
- Oversee the development of campaigns that communicate member impact and ROI.
- Maintain a 90%+ renewal rate by implementing proactive outreach and stewardship plans.
- Help develop and execute a comprehensive revenue strategy aligned with PMC’s organizational priorities, growth goals, and market trends.
- Oversee a $3M+ annual portfolio spanning membership dues, sponsor ships, and philanthropic partnerships.
- Design new revenue-generating opportunities that align member visibility with PMC’s policy, evidence, and education initiatives.
- Monitor and respond to external and industry trends
- Establish and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) related to revenue, retention, engagement, and prospect pipeline growth.
- Lead annual forecasting, budgeting, and reporting for membership and sponsorship revenue.
- Generate sponsorship revenue for PMC’s conferences, forums, and special projects by developing tailored partnership proposals that align corporate visibility with PMC’s mission and programming.
- Help navigate complex corporate budget structures with members to identify and secure additional funding streams across marketing, policy, CSR, and scientific affairs budgets.
- Understand how PMC’s events and initiatives intersect with members’ business priorities to craft compelling value propositions and partnership narratives.
- Collaborate with internal teams to design sponsorship packages, promotional materials, and activation plans that deliver measurable value for partners.
- Apply strong organizational and project management skills to ensure sponsors receive agreed-upon benefits and high-quality experiences before, during, and after each event.
- Partner closely with the President and Board of Directors to identify new revenue opportunities and advance key organizational priorities.
- Prepare and deliver membership and sponsorship updates at quarterly Board and Executive Committee meetings.
