Overview The Travel Coordinator is responsible for planning, arranging, and managing official domestic and international travel for employees and contractors. This position ensures that travel is executed smoothly, cost‑effectively, and in compliance with applicable regulations and organizational policies. The Travel Coordinator serves as a key point of contact for travelers and vendors, providing guidance, resolving issues, and maintaining accurate travel records.
Note: This role is a contractor position in support of a government agency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities- Coordinate all aspects of domestic and international travel, including air, lodging, ground transportation, and related logistics.
- Prepare, review, and process travel authorizations, vouchers, and supporting documentation.
- Advise travelers on allowable expenses, per diem rates, and organizational travel policies.
- Monitor compliance with internal travel policies, security requirements, and cost‑control standards.
- Support last‑minute and emergency travel changes, including rebooking flights, lodging, and transportation.
- Maintain accurate travel records and generate reports for budgeting, audits, and program monitoring.
- Serve as liaison between staff, travel vendors, and travel management service providers.
- Provide training and assistance to staff on travel systems and procedures.
- 2–3 years of experience in travel coordination, logistics, or administrative support.
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and accuracy.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast‑paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Prior experience coordinating travel in a government contracting or highly regulated environment.
- Familiarity with travel management systems (e.g., Concur, E2 Solutions, or similar platforms).
- Knowledge of domestic and international travel requirements, including visas and customs regulations.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and related software tools.
- Strong customer service orientation and ability to resolve travel‑related issues effectively.
Work is performed in a typical corporate office environment.
Physical RequirementsThis is largely a sedentary position requiring the ability to speak, hear, and see. The employee must also be able to lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory ResponsibilityThis position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
TravelNo travel is required.
Work AuthorizationCandidate must be authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship is not available for this position.
Pay Transparency StatementWe are dedicated to ensuring a thoughtful, compliant, and equitable approach to employment compensation. Our commitment includes conducting a comprehensive salary analysis that considers individual skill sets, qualifications, business needs, internal compensation data, and industry and labor market surveys. The anticipated pay range for this position is 28 USD to 33 USD per hour.
