About

The Role

We provide clients with a comprehensive view of strategic communications that leverages our integrated services, including financial communications, corporate reputation, transaction communications, and public affairs across major markets worldwide.

As a Director in the Corporate Reputation practice, you will support day-to-day management of client accounts, develop and execute communications strategies, draft and review client materials, and ensure work meets client expectations. Mentoring and coaching junior team members is a key part of this senior role to ensure skills development across the team.

What You’ll Do

Client Delivery

  • Develop and advise on clients’ communications strategies to position companies and/or executives within their peer set
  • Write and edit materials related to key milestones for clients (e.g., product launches, data readouts, executive changes), including memos, press releases, presentations, emails, media pitches, and web content
  • Serve as a day-to-day client contact for select accounts; manage overall quality of work on multiple accounts
  • Deliver high-quality work focused on client needs with strong attention to detail
  • Create client-ready deliverables in a timely and efficient manner
  • Consistently seek ways to improve client service and anticipate client needs
  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the healthcare industry landscape, including key stakeholders, policies, companies, and industry organizations
  • Manage account teams and support clients with minimal oversight; take a proactive approach to client needs
  • Counsel clients about industry developments and news
  • Identify resource needs and allocate responsibilities within the team
  • Support billing procedures to ensure timely and accurate delivery of client invoices

Business Development

  • Maintain strong relationships with clients
  • Identify opportunities to add value for clients
  • Contribute to the generation of new business proposals and presentations
  • Cultivate internal and external networks to support the team

Practice Leadership

  • Support development, production, and marketing of thought leadership on emerging healthcare trends
  • Evaluate strategies and alternatives with senior management during difficult situations
  • Demonstrate accountability for outcomes and assist others when needed
  • Effectively manage competing demands for time
  • Lead and mentor junior staff; foster a positive team culture
How You’ll Grow

What You Will Need To Succeed

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field
  • Minimum five years of experience at a communications agency (healthcare focus) or in-house communications
  • Superior writing, editing, and researching skills; familiarity with AP style
  • Solid understanding of the healthcare landscape, media relations, digital and social media, and research
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, multi-tasking, deadline-driven environment with regular change
  • Proven project management skills and ability to proactively support key client relationships
  • Strong time and priority management; ability to juggle multiple client projects
  • Professional network development and healthcare media contacts experience
  • Experience with media database tools and pitching to secure client coverage
  • Advanced proficiency in PowerPoint, Excel, and Word
  • Willingness to travel to clients and FTI offices
