* Job Description:

** The Government Affairs division of the National Association of Insurance Commissioners (NAIC) is looking to hire two, Administrative Assistant III for our Washington DC office. The Administrative Assistant III supports the Government Affairs department by providing advanced administrative logistical, and operational support. This role performs a broad range of administrative duties requiring independent judgment, discretion, and a thorough understanding of organizational policies and procedures to support efficient departmental operations.

** This is a full-time position based out of our Washington D.C. office.
**** Responsibilities Include
*** Provides advanced administrative support across multiple systems; prepare, edit, proofread, and format a variety of documents.
* Maintains databases and documentation, including version control and distribution of materials.
* Coordinates complex travel arrangements (including visas) and support office systems and processes.
* Serves as a primary point of contact for internal and external communications, escalating issues as appropriate.
* Supports the Office Manager by coordinating meetings, events, and appointments; prepares materials, tracks action items, and supports project coordination.
* Manages departmental filing systems per records‑retention policies, including organizing, purging, and archiving.
* Applies established policies and procedures, using judgment to address non‑routine issues and recommends improvements.
** Minimum

Education and/or Experience Required
*** High School Diploma or equivalent and 4-6 years of related work experience or equivalent combination of education and experience.
* Demonstrated ability to manage multiple priorities, maintain confidentiality, and work independently
** Preferred Experience
** Associate's degree or completion of some college coursework is preferred.
** Systems & Technology Requirements
** Proficiency in Microsoft 365, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. Proactive willingness to learn new technology is required.
** Compensation
* * Starting at $29.73 an hour up to $38.46 an hour, commensurate with education and experience.
