About the Role

As an Operations Associate, you will support the behind‑the‑scenes work that keeps The Bulwark running smoothly. This is a hands‑on role for someone organized, curious, and eager to learn how a growing media company operates.

In this role, you will:
  • Assist with business and content operations – tracking key metrics, researching audience trends, and supporting planning and decision‑making across teams.
  • Support hiring and onboarding – posting jobs, communicating with candidates, and helping with orientation.
  • Coordinate logistics and on‑the‑ground operations for live events and merchandise projects, working closely with the Events & Merch team.
  • Support the social media team with scheduling or posting content and help grow our audience across platforms.
  • Help manage day‑to‑day operations – vendor coordination, office management, scheduling, internal communications, and documentation.
  • Support internal systems and processes (e.g., HR, finance, and team operations).
  • Assist with project tracking and follow‑up to keep tasks on schedule.
  • Jump in wherever needed – we’re a small team and value people who take initiative.
About You
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • A proactive, can‑do attitude and comfort working in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Curiosity and eagerness to learn new systems and take on new challenges.
  • Strong attention to detail and follow‑through.
  • Excellent writing and editing skills.
  • Experience with Google Workspace, Slack, or project management tools is a plus.
  • Genuine interest in The Bulwark’s mission and work.
