We are partnering with a trusted client in Washington, DC to identify a high-caliber Senior Accountant to join their growing team. This role is an excellent fit for candidates coming directly from a Top 10 public accounting firm, particularly those with backgrounds in audit, tax, or a blended audit/tax profile who are looking to transition into industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the month-end and year-end close processes, including preparation of journal entries, account reconciliations, and financial reporting.
  • Assist in preparing GAAP-compliant financial statements and internal management reports.
  • Perform analytical reviews and variance analysis to support business decision-making.
  • Lead or support audit-related activities, including compiling schedules, documentation, and responding to requests from external auditors.
  • Participate in tax-related work such as gathering supporting documentation, preparing schedules, and assisting with tax filings (as required).
  • Maintain and improve accounting processes, internal controls, and workflow efficiencies.
  • Assist with budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Support special projects, process improvements, and ad hoc analysis for leadership.
Ideal Candidate Profile
  • Experience with a Top 10 public accounting firm (required or strongly preferred).
  • Background in audit, tax, or audit/tax hybrid engagements.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or progress toward CPA highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of GAAP, financial reporting, and internal controls.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with large ERP systems is a plus.
