Accounts Receivable Accountant - Washington, DC

Overview

Beacon Hill Financial has partnered with a client in Washington, DC to identify an Accounts Receivable Accountant to support day‑to‑day accounting operations. This role is ideal for a detail‑oriented accounting professional with strong AR experience who thrives in a fast‑paced, collaborative, in‑office environment. This position is fully onsite.

Key Responsibilities
  • Manage the full accounts receivable cycle, including invoicing, cash application, and customer account reconciliation.
  • Apply payments accurately and timely, resolving discrepancies and unapplied cash as needed.
  • Prepare and review AR aging reports and support collection efforts in coordination with internal stakeholders.
  • Reconcile AR‑related balance sheet accounts and assist with month‑end close activities.
  • Maintain accurate customer records and ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting policies.
  • Support audit requests by preparing documentation and responding to inquiries related to AR activity.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
  • Prior experience in accounts receivable or general accounting.
  • Solid understanding of accounting principles and AR best practices.
  • Proficiency with accounting systems and Microsoft Excel.
  • Strong attention to detail, organizational skills, and ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective communication skills and ability to work collaboratively.
