Staff Accountant

Our client is seeking a Staff Accountant to support their growing Real Estate accounting function
. This role will work closely with the Controller and senior accounting team and will be responsible for day-to-day accounting activities related to real estate entities and properties.

• Prepare and maintain general ledger entries for real estate entities
• Assist with month-end and year-end close, including journal entries and reconciliations
• Perform bank, balance sheet, and account reconciliations
• Support financial statement preparation and internal reporting
• Assist with audits and respond to auditor requests
• Maintain fixed assets and depreciation schedules as needed
• Collaborate cross-functionally with property management and finance teams

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance
• 1–3 years of accounting experience (real estate experience preferred but not required)
• Strong understanding of GAAP fundamentals
• Proficiency in Excel
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
• Ability to work onsite in Washington, DC a couple of days per week
