Senior Corporate Accountant
Location:
Washington, DC (On-site 3–4 days per week)
Hourly Rate: $45.00-$65.00/hour

Cordia Resources by Cherry Bekaert is seeking a highly skilled Senior Corporate Accountant to join a dynamic finance team supporting affordable housing initiatives in the Washington, DC region. This position offers an excellent opportunity for an experienced accounting professional to take on a leadership role within a mission-driven organization.
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the preparation and review of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements in accordance with GAAP and cash basis standards.
- Oversee complex account reconciliations, including intercompany accounts, restricted funds, and accruals.
- Manage general ledger operations for multiple entities, ensuring timely and accurate posting of journal entries.
- Direct the month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring all deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
- Supervise and mentor accounting staff, fostering a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
- Oversee daily cash monitoring, liquidity tracking, and treasury operations.
- Coordinate and approve wire transfers, check runs, and capital call activities.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on project-based financial needs and strategic initiatives.
- Support audit and tax compliance, maintaining organized accounting files and updating procedures.
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field; CPA preferred.
- Minimum of 8 years of progressively responsible accounting experience, including supervisory duties.
- Experience in real estate or affordable housing is strongly preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with MIP and/or Yardi is highly desirable.
- Deep understanding of GAAP and fund accounting principles.
- Strong analytical, reconciliation, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent organizational and communication abilities; proven capacity to manage multiple priorities under tight deadlines. - Demonstrated leadership and staff development experience.
