The Plant Controller supports all accounting functions for our global organization, including general accounting, payables, receivables, cost accounting, bill of materials, and financial reporting. The role requires excellent communication and organization skills to maintain accurate and compliant plant financial reports.
Responsibilities
• Assist in the development of internal controls and policies related to all accounting functions.
• Reconcile general ledger accounts and perform fixed‑asset and cost‑accounting analyses.
• Prepare current month financial reports for corporate management in the corporate format and meet time requirements.
• Prepare monthly financial statements in compliance with GAAP and complete financial reporting packages.
• Verify physical inventory accuracy and investigate discrepancies.
• Manage journal entries, consolidations, and account reconciliations for monthly and annual closings.
• Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
• Participate in annual audit preparation and coordinate closely with external auditors.
• Audit bills of materials to verify accurate product cost recording and report monthly findings.
• Analyze labor, material, overhead, distribution cost, returns, and inventory levels to identify and resolve inaccuracies.
• Ensure bill‑of‑materials and cost calculations reflect production operations.
• Prepare management reports, analyze budget variances, and review excess and obsolete inventory levels.
• Provide strong internal customer service to other departments as requested.
Qualifications
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Preferred certification such as CPA or CFM.
• Three years as a plant controller or cost manager in a manufacturing environment.
• Solid knowledge of GAAP and relevant financial accounting regulations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office, including pivot tables and graphing in Excel, ERP systems, and fixed‑asset software.
• Excellent knowledge of monthly and annual closings, budgeting, and reporting.
• Exceptional accuracy, attention to detail, and professional communication.
• Exceptional problem‑solving skills and strong organizational skills.

Physical and Mental Demands
• Primarily sedentary position with long periods of sitting at a computer.
• Manual tasks include typing, using a mouse, and handling small objects.

• Regular and reliable attendance required.
Working Environment
• Computer‑based, sedentary office position.
• Intermittent exposure to loud noises, sparks, fumes, chemicals, and heavy equipment on the production floor.
• Office located in a temperature‑controlled environment.
• May lift, push, or pull up to 25 pounds on rare occasions.
