Staff accountant

Advisory Services firm located in Bethesda, MD is in search of a Staff Accountant to join their client services team. This individual will provide accounting services and advisory support services to a diverse client base in real estate, construction, professional services, non-profits, healthcare, high net worth individuals and more. Each client is unique with differing needs, so you can expect challenge and variety.

This is an entry level position with in-house training and various industry certifications. Salary range is $50 - 74k dependent upon education and experience.

• Our client is looking for someone who is working toward, or has, an accounting degree with a solid understanding of accrual and cash basis accounting, balance sheets, income statements, journal entries, general ledgers, trial balances, and chart of accounts.
• The position also requires an understanding of payroll processing and quarterly and annual payroll tax filings, attention to detail and the ability to multi-task.
• Quick Books proficiency and Excel skills will be needed to be a strong performer in this role, and our client is willing to train and mentor.

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Accounting preferred.
• Will consider candidates who have not achieved Bachelor's degree but have made significant progress including all accounting courses.
• Proficiency in Excel.
• 1 - 2+ years of accounting experience a plus.

• Understanding of accrual and cash basis accounting
• Balance sheets, income statements, journal entries, general ledgers, trial balances, and chart of accounts
• Payroll processing and tax filings
• Attention to detail and multi-tasking abilities

Quick Books on-line and desktop version proficiency but will train and mentor

Salary range is $50 - 74k dependent upon education and experience.
