The Senior Accountant/Assistant manages the financials for multiple companies under the same ownership group and assists the Controller with monthly reconciliations and reporting. This role involves collaborating with senior management and providing financial analysis, ensuring that the business entities’ day-to-day financial operations run smoothly and efficiently.
Financial Reporting and Analysis- Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, reconcile accounts, and perform variance and trend analysis.
- Gather and document business requirements, translating them into technical specifications, and creating reports and dashboards to provide data-driven insights.
- Manage and oversee day-to-day accounting processes, including accounts payable and accounts receivable, fixed assets, expense management, journal entries, and general ledger maintenance.
- Data Extraction and Preparation:
Acquire data from the ERP system and other primary/secondary sources, clean and structure large datasets to ensure accuracy and integrity for analysis. - Data Mining and Analysis:
Apply statistical analysis, data mining, and predictive modeling techniques to interpret complex financial data sets and identify patterns, trends, and potential risks or opportunities (e.g., fraud detection, cost savings, profit optimization). - Strategic Support:
Work with management to prioritize business information needs and provide analytical support for strategic planning, budgeting, and forecasting initiatives.
- Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting or Business Administration, or another industry-related field required; or equivalent experience and education required.
- At least 3-5 years of industry-related experience including Senior Accountant or Assistant Controller positions.
- Thorough understanding of GAAP accounting practices, budgeting and cost accounting.
- Proficient with Accounting and Payroll software programs, ERP systems, and Microsoft Office Suite, or related software.
