This role plays a key part in supporting the Accounting team by ensuring smooth, accurate, and compliant payroll and financial processes. As a Payroll Accountant, you will manage the end-to-end payroll process, demonstrating strong time management skills while organizing, reviewing, and processing payroll-related forms for federal, state, and local authorities. You’ll work closely with the Controller to process payroll using our UKG system, resolve payroll issues as they arise, and maintain compliance.
Your expertise and problem-solving skills will contribute to achieving departmental goals and improving overall efficiency in financial operations.
Hours: Mon, Tues, Fri: 7:00am-3:30pm
What You’ll Do- Prepare and process in-house bi-weekly payroll of 700+ employees using Ultimate Kronos Group, as well off-cycle manual checks and profit sharing and bonus payrolls.
- Confirm and/or submit quarterly and annual tax reports/statements generated by UKG. (state tax reports, 940's, 941's, W-2's, etc.).
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of changes in payroll and tax compliance laws (US, State, and Local).
- Prepare and post Payroll related Journal Entries and Accruals.
- Develop and publish reports using the UKG Business Intelligence Tool.
- Associate’s Degree in Accounting
- 5+ years of experience in a general payroll/accounting position
- Proven experience with payroll tax reporting in a multi-state environment
- Experience with UKG Payroll system
- Strong computer skills, including MS Office programs, with strong proficiency with Excel (vlookup, pivot tables)
Base Compensation Range: $34.25-$45.72/hour. Compensation offered will be based on a variety of individual factors, including education and experience, as well as internal equity. Our salary ranges are reviewed and updated each year and employees are eligible for pay increases based on individual performance.
