Job Description

Assist the department manager in reaching sales and profit goals and monitor quality standards. Responsibilities

• Prepare bakery and deli items per customer requests using proper equipment.
• Offer product samples to help customers discover new items.
• Inform customers of bakery and deli specials.
• Provide fresh products with correct portion sizes to prevent shrink.
• Recommend products to customers based on their needs.
• Use bakery equipment such as refrigerators, freezers, slicers, and ovens according to guidelines.
• Follow food safety and temperature logs, prepare foods per recipes, and properly package and label products.
• Maintain inventory, check product quality, and ensure proper temperatures in cases and coolers.
• Assist customers, answer questions, and promote a welcoming environment.
• Adhere to safety and food handling regulations, and report safety issues or accidents.
• Work cooperatively in a fast-paced environment, manage conflicts, and act with honesty and integrity.
• Support and assist diverse customer groups, including minors, individuals with special needs, and older adults.

Qualifications

• Customer service skills
• Effective communication skills
• Basic math knowledge
• Ability to obtain a food handlers permit upon employment

• Bakery or deli experience is helpful
• Retail experience
