Location: Adena Fayette, Medical Surgical Unit

Shift: Days – 36 hours per week with weekend rotation

Position Summary: The Patient Care Associate (PCA)/Student Nurse/Unit Secretary provides high quality, direct patient care to an assigned group of patients. Responsibilities include activities of daily living, safe patient handling equipment use, intake and output monitoring, Foley removal, external urinary catheter management, telemetry monitor set up, blood glucose and oxygen set up, and tasks delegated per scope of practice and skill set.

The PCA may also provide clerical support, liaison communication, and collaborative care with RN to achieve optimal outcomes. This role works under direct supervision of a Patient Care Coordinator/Registered Nurse, RN or Assistant Nurse Manager and indirect supervision of the Nurse Manager or Director.

Required Educational Degree: High School Diploma or GED

Preferred Education: Completion of Medical Terminology course required

Current licensure/certification as applicable;
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)

Certified Nursing Assistant (C.N.A.), Patient Care Tech. or equivalent program or currently enrolled in an accredited school of nursing
