Job Purpose
To take responsibility for your area of the country, selling the full Bridgestone Agriculture & OTR product ranges directly to the Bridgestone dealer network, end users (including operational sites), local distributors, Key Accounts and Vehicle Distributors. To maximise the number of units sold, by selling the full range of products with the required mix, maintaining price levels and ensuring the correct use of the products in line with the Bridgestone Sales Strategy.
To prospect the area and always look to develop new customers, whilst building the brand image and loyalty with existing dealers and users.
- Fully inspect all tyres running on predefined customers, Agriculture OEMs, Dealers, Farmers, Mines, Quarries & Fleets.
- Update our Tyre Management System (TMS-Web-toolbox) program with the information gathered and present your findings to the customer.
- Be fully aware of all Health & safety policies on each site & ensure compliance.
- Gain a full knowledge of existing and potential business within your area. Target weaknesses in coverage by opening new and dormant accounts. Ensure existing accounts are growing their business with our products.
- Actively sell our products, understanding and selling on the features, advantages and benefits;
Selling Bridgestone on long term value and Firestone on its competitive initial cost. - Use promotions, marketing aids and brand support material to increase sales activity. Suggest promotions and incentives to Marketing with justification based on increased business. Gather competitor information and feed back to marketing.
- Target each customer with expected levels of business. Ensure rebates and incentives align with targets. Monitor customer performance against target. Ensure customers have up-to-date price lists and product information.
- Target fleets and end-users in the local area and seek new business. Gather market information and feed back to head office. Use trial fitments as a selling method.
- Monitor, control and take responsibility for a customer’s credit position. Liaise with Credit Control and alert them to possible bad debts.
- Complete related administration efficiently, work to a pre-agreed call cycle, complete call records and weekly planners, produce market reports, undertake presentations to senior management, conduct vehicle checks and use results to prove tyre competitiveness, contribute to the database with end-user information, and ensure 70% of sales time is spent with end users.
- Undertake presentations and seminars at Awareness/Open days; participate in exhibitions and shows.
- Attend relevant Sales meetings and communicate information that may impact sales to management; develop and maintain good working relationships with all Bridgestone employees.
- Upskill and train as required to understand future Bridgestone activities.
- Fully support Field Engineering in processing adjustment claims and other technical matters; address technical issues in the field where possible.
Please note - This position will require occasional weekend working.
QualificationsEducation – Minimum of A level or equivalent. Full UK driving license.
Experience – Minimum of three years direct sales experience, with ambition and drive to succeed.
