Rubicon Consulting is currently recruiting for an Engineering / Manufacturing Technician - Rotating Machinery on 6 month rolling contracts based in Warwickshire.
Role SummaryWe are seeking a skilled and motivated Engineering Technician to support the manufacturing of high-performance rotary power units. This role combines hands‑on technical assembly with engineering support responsibilities, ensuring products are built to specification, quality standards, and Lean manufacturing principles. The ideal candidate is mechanically inclined, detail‑oriented, and driven by continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities- Read and interpret technical drawings and standardized work instructions.
- Build and Assemble rotor components including shafts, laminations, cores, windings, bearings, and housings according to engineering specifications.
- Perform gas brazing and induction brazing of copper components, ensuring proper joint integrity, alignment, and quality standards.
- Perform precision measurements using micrometres, callipers, dial indicators, and other inspection tools.
- Balance and align rotors to ensure proper function, minimal vibration, and high performance.
- Conduct in-process and final quality inspections to meet company and customer standards.
- Identify and eliminate waste in the production process using Lean thinking principles.
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, 5S activities, and team problem‑solving efforts.
- Maintain accurate production documentation and adhere to safety procedures.
- Experience as an Engineering, Manufacturing, Mechanical, or Aerospace Technician.
- Background in rotating machinery such as motors, generators, turbines, or similar.
- Hands‑on brazing experience (gas or induction).
- Strong understanding of precision assembly and inspection.
- Detail‑focused with pride in workmanship.
- Reliable, self‑motivated, and comfortable working to procedures.
- Team‑oriented with a continuous improvement mindset.
