National Grid is hiring for a Change and Engagement Lead - This position is based in our Warwick office. Hybrid/Flexible Working model.

Job Purpose

The Change and Engagement Lead will act as a key enabler in the successful rollout of ET transformation programmes into Substation and Cable Operations. This role ensures that Operations' requirements are fully considered by the Transformation PMO and serves as a crucial interface between the Operations teams and the wider business. The role will facilitate effective communication and coordination of requests into Operations, supporting the department's strategic objectives and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

What

you'll do
  • Work closely with the National Grid Electricity Transmission (ET) Transformation PMO to enable the successful implementation of transformation initiatives within Operations, ensuring resource requests are coordinated and planned effectively across different change projects.
  • Drive and coordinate critical operational projects, initiatives, and cross-functional work to achieve strategic priorities, fostering collaboration across all operational zones and the wider business.
  • Lead on identifying and sharing best practices across teams to promote efficiency and consistency.
  • Develop content and key messages for communications and team events on behalf of the Operations Director, working with Corporate Affairs and other relevant areas.
  • Lead engagement efforts within the department, using direct feedback and insights from surveys to identify and embed improvement opportunities.
  • Champion wellbeing initiatives within the department, working with the AO Wellbeing Group to promote a culture of physical and mental health.
  • Promote continuous improvement, adaptability, and innovation within Operations, supporting teams to work more efficiently and effectively.
About you
  • Proven stakeholder management experience: Demonstrated ability to engage and influence stakeholders at multiple organisational levels, including senior leaders and field teams. Look for examples of managing complex relationships or cross-functional collaboration.
  • Strong communication skills: Evidence of creating clear, concise communications such as reports, presentations, or change communications that have secured buy-in or driven engagement.
  • Experience working with geographically dispersed teams: Previous roles involving coordination or leadership of teams across multiple locations or regions.
  • Organisational skills: Track record of managing multiple projects or priorities simultaneously, meeting tight deadlines, and delivering results.
  • Adaptability: Examples of successfully managing change, ambiguity, or shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Discretion and confidentiality: Experience handling sensitive information or working in roles requiring high levels of trust.
  • Collaborative mindset: Demonstrated ability to work well with others, including examples of constructive challenge or influencing without authority.
  • Continuous improvement focus: Evidence of leading or contributing to process improvements, efficiency initiatives, or innovation projects.
What you'll get

A competitive salary between £48,000 - £57,000 - dependent on capability

As well as your base salary, you will receive a bonus based on personal and company performance and a competitive contributory pension scheme where we will double match your contribution to a maximum company contribution of 12%.
