We are hiring the Lead Administrator Position in Warwick, UK.

Location: Hybrid

Contract: 6 months (potential extension)

Schedule: 2-3 days per week, hybrid

Start Date: 15.01.26

Eligibility: SC eligible / SC cleared candidates only.

Security Clearance: Ideally SC certified or able to gain certification.

Experienced Senior UK‑based network engineer required for a programme of work within National Grid to modernize and enhance the UK network infrastructure, focusing on replacing end‑of‑life hardware, deploying enhanced Wi‑Fi solutions, provisioning high‑speed internet connectivity overlayed with CISCO SD‑WAN, and progressing alternative connectivity options such as satellite and 5G for disaster recovery. The role includes comprehensive wireless surveys, design work, and ad‑hoc travel to national grid sites for physical Wi‑Fi surveys and desktop surveys with Ekahau tools.

• Minimum Cisco CCNP certification required
• CCIE certification desirable
• Certified Wireless Networking Professional (CWNP) certification highly desirable
• In‑depth knowledge of Wireless LAN (Cisco WLAN, Cisco ISE, Aruba WLAN, Aruba Clear Pass) and private 5G (e.g., Cradlepoint) solutions
• Proficiency in Wi‑Fi survey tools (Ekahau), RF design, and deployment of enterprise‑grade wireless solutions
• In‑depth knowledge of SD‑WAN solutions (Cisco Viptela)
• In‑depth knowledge of routing protocols (BGP, OSPF), carrier WAN and internet offerings, cloud network services
• In‑depth knowledge of Cisco LAN switching technologies (STP, RSTP, MSTP, VLANs, Ether Channel, switch stacking), and proficiency in configuring and troubleshooting Layer 2 and Layer 3 switches, implementing QoS, and managing network segmentation and redundancy
• Ability to produce detailed designs, implementation plans, and operational support models
• Strong stakeholder engagement and coordination across multiple environments
• SC certification or ability to obtain cleared status
