We are looking for nurses with at least 18 months experience to work on Beaumont Ward at Warwick Hospital. As a Staff Nurse on a busy women’s surgical and gynaecology ward you would make a valuable and important contribution to the delivery of high quality healthcare on both the women’s surgical ward and the gynaecological/early pregnancy assessment clinic, supporting the registered professional in the delivery of safe, effective, compassionate patient care.
It would be useful for the applicant to have an understanding of basic gynaecological issues and some of the more frequent problems that occur in early pregnancy.
The role will also entail supporting the early pregnancy bereavement team. This will include last offices for babies in early gestation up to 20/40, supporting parents with mementoes, organising transfers to mortuary and completing relevant paperwork for investigations and funeral arrangements.

Main duties of the jobTo deliver a high standard of nursing care to patients undergoing surgical or medical treatment. The post holders will be responsible for the assessment of patient care needs, and implementation and evaluation of the programme of the care. The post holders are required to work as part of a team committed to delivering and improving a high standard of nursing care within South Warwickshire NHS Foundation Trust.

Job responsibilities Clinical- Take clinical responsibility for patients within your allocated area of work.
- Continuously assess, plan, implement and evaluate treatment, using appropriate programmes/methods of care.
- Ensure a high delivery of quality care in accordance with Trust policies, procedures and guidelines. Participate in activities to improve the quality, productivity and effectiveness of care in response to local and national policies and initiatives.
- Practice in accordance with the NMC Code of Professional conduct and scope of professional practice and maintain own NMC registration.
- In the absence of a senior colleague, will be expected to co‑ordinate the shift, and take management responsibility for admissions, transfers and discharges to the ward or department.
- Liaise with the multi‑disciplinary team to ensure an effective flow and communications within the area, including being available for Board and Ward Rounds as required.
- Showing empathy, understanding, and professionalism when communicating with patients, their carers and families.
- Identifying individual needs and therefore utilising a range of agreed communication mediums.
- Communicate effectively and professionally with colleagues and all levels of staff.
- Maintain confidentiality at all times, as required by legislation and Trust policy.
- Ensure records and documentation are maintained, kept confidential, and meet professional NMC guidelines, appropriate Trust standards, and in line with the Data Protection Act.
