Position: Building Surveyor (Fire Safety)

We are looking for a Building Surveyor with Fire Safety & Risk background & experience to join our experienced team on a permanent basis, to undertake a full range of Project Management & Building Surveying duties and responsibilities, as required in order to maintain and improve the Council's property portfolio in relation to fire safety improvement works, ensuring that the Council's responsibilities and duties as landlord and service provider are upheld in line with current and pending legislation.

To manage key, fire safety improvement works to deliver on actions as noted in Fire Risk Assessment. To ensure compliance with all Fire Safety regulations and relevant Building Regulations. Competent understanding of the design principles for fire safety work - such as emergency lighting, sprinkler systems, fire doors etc.

Our work involves specifying and managing works to the Council's housing stock and providing aids and adaptations work for our tenants.

It also involves work to our corporate and commercial premises including many buildings in conservation areas and several which are of regional and national importance.

We are also involved with fire safety measures and HHSRS risks and solutions, for which experience would be an advantage. All of this is underpinned by our Climate Emergency priorities, ensuring that our buildings are energy efficient and that our tenant's homes are warm and safe.

The successful candidate will have an HNC, HND or Degree relevant to the built environment or a proven track record and 3 years' experience of working for a local authority, corporate property provider or other appropriate provider in a relevant field, please see the job description, person specification & Career grade structure for full details.
