Reporting to the DD&T Financial Management Lead, you will provide comprehensive financial support to the Heads of Delivery within NESO’s Data, Digital & Technology (DD&T) business function. Through the provision of regular financial analysis, reporting and insights you will support effective decision-making, forecasting and management of both project and run the business (RTB) expenditure. You will directly support senior product delivery managers on more complex DD&T projects and supervise a team of financial management accountants supporting other product delivery managers.
You’ll provide technical expertise, drive process continuous improvement, operate financial controls and support collaboration across the DD&T and CFO function, as well as provide insights on Regulatory and Value for Money reporting.
This role can be based in Warwick or Wokingham, and we continue to offer hybrid working from office and home. We are open to full time and part time applicants, as well as flexible working arrangements.
Key accountabilities- Providing monthly management narrative on Totex spend, covering both project (Opex and Capex) and RTB expenditure for the product portfolio being managed by the relevant Head of Delivery within DD&T. This includes forecasting risks and opportunities against agreed deliverables (spends and outcomes) to ensure they are engaged and informed.
- Acting as the key Finance stakeholder to the Head of Delivery in interpreting and understanding their portfolio. This will be delivered through direct engagement with senior delivery managers but also via your team of financial management accountants.
- Supporting the DD&T Financial Management Lead in providing insight to the Chief Information Officer of NESO on the overall financial performance of the DD&T function against financial spend and delivery of agreed outcomes.
- Supervising your team to ensure they are conducting regular project surgeries to review financial insights and identify appropriate actions; are delivering customer service excellence to their internal customers; are adhering to technical accounting rules; controls for the function are being appropriately operated; and for innovation projects (if relevant) specific regulatory rules are adhered to and that Ofgem rules are not breached.
- Ensuring accuracy of actual costs incurred, being properly entered on company systems in accordance with NESO’s accounting policies and appropriate accounting standards. This includes supporting the external audit team in this respect.
- Identifying continuous improvement opportunities to enhance processes and strengthen governance and controls operated within the CFO function. Also supporting the CFO continuous improvement team to deliver enhancements to our new ERP system.
- Being recognised as a critical trusted partner for the business, utilising financial expertise and project knowledge to provide support to the wider business, delivering any appropriate training to business and CFO teams.

- Fully qualified accountant (member of CIMA, ACCA, or ACA).
- Passionate about driving business performance through insightful analysis.
- Experience of NESO’s regulatory framework and working with multiple diverse stakeholders.
- Experience in leading project and management accounting teams and related processes.
- Strong communicator with excellent customer service orientation.
- Strong understanding of governance, risk, and internal controls.
A competitive salary between £60,000 - £65,000pa – dependent on experience and capability.
