Finance Manager

Our client is a fast-growing energy business focused on long-duration battery storage projects. Following a recent joint venture, the business has seen a step-change in operational complexity and reporting demands. The organisation is lean and entrepreneurial. Finance is central to keeping things moving, so this role suits someone comfortable operating in a hands‑on SME environment, rather than a heavily layered corporate structure.

This is a true all-round Interim Finance Manager role. A safe, experienced pair of hands to sit alongside Group Financial Controller and help stabilise, run, and scale the day‑to‑day finance function.

• Owning management accounting, month‑end and reporting packs
• Running payments, bank processes and cash oversight
• Hands‑on involvement in AP, VAT returns and reconciliations (this is unavoidable in a small team, there is no one else doing this).
• Budgeting, forecasting and financial tracking across projects
• Heavy use of Excel for modelling, reporting and analysis
• Supporting legal and commercial activity by interpreting legal terminology and translating it into finance actions
• Helping keep finance processes moving during periods of deal activity and growth

• Qualified Accountant
• Experienced Finance Manager that is happy to be hands‑on across all aspects of finance including management accounting/reporting and transactional (AP, VAT etc).
• Comfortable in small, fast‑growing organisations
• Strong commercial judgement and the confidence to operate independently
