Electronics Technician
Job Description & How to Apply Below
Our client is seeking a talented and hands‑on Electronics Technician to join their multidisciplinary team. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys variety, problem‑solving and contributing to innovative product development. You'll work closely with engineers across multiple projects, helping bring early‑stage concepts and prototypes to life.
The Electronics Technician will:
Work in a design and development environment rather than production, applying creativity, collaboration and practical thinking to daily tasks.
Support several projects at once, managing competing requests and proactively gathering information when given high‑level briefs.
Carry out precise hand‑soldering and rework on PCB assemblies, including fine‑pitch SMDs, BGAs, circuit modifications, and prototype circuit builds.
Build, modify and repair small batches of prototype boards, cables, devices and test fixtures to support ongoing development work.
Keep accurate documentation of circuit changes, build states and test results for PCB assemblies.
Assist in the safe design, construction and commissioning of test rigs, demo models and exhibition units, ranging from desktop devices to full‑scale mock‑ups.
The Electronics Technician will have:
Strong experience in hand‑soldering and reworking fine‑pitch surface‑mount components, including performing detailed cut‑and‑strap circuit modifications.
A solid working knowledge of practical electronics and a genuine enthusiasm for how products are created and delivered.
A proactive, can‑do attitude with good time‑management skills and the ability to thrive in a dynamic, varied environment.
A recognised qualification such as an HNC or HND in Electronics (or equivalent).
Some experience using PCB layout or electronic design tools — Altium knowledge is an advantage, but training can be provided.
An interest in contributing to PCB layout tasks and helping maintain component libraries within CAD tools.
If you're an enthusiastic, hands‑on Electronics Technician looking for an engaging and varied role within a supportive team, we'd love to hear from you. Please apply with your CV and we'll be in touch
