Position: Building Surveyor (Career Grade)

Building Surveyor (Career Grade) – Permanent Post

Salary: Career Grade G‑D £26,824 to £46,142 per annum

Hours:

37 hours per week

Location:

Warwick District Council – Westminster and surrounding areas.

We are looking for a Building Surveyor to join our experienced team on a permanent basis. Our work involves specifying and managing works to the Council's housing stock, providing aids and adaptations work for tenants, and maintaining corporate and commercial premises, many of which are in conservation areas or are of regional and national importance.

We also work on fire safety measures and HHSRS risk CM, and we are committed to our Climate Emergency priorities, ensuring our buildings are energy efficient and our tenants’ homes are warm and safe.

Work is delivered on an agile basis – from site or from home. Hybrid working is available, but the successful candidate must be able to attend in‑office meetings as required.

Responsibilities
  • Specifying and managing works to theخف Council’s housing stock.
  • Providing aids and adaptations for tenants.
  • Spearheading projects for corporate and commercial premises, including buildings in conservation areas.
  • Implementing fire safety measures and HHSRS risk assessments and solutions.
  • Supporting the Council’s Climate Emergency commitments – improving energy efficiency and tenant safety.
  • Coordinating work on an agile, hybrid work model.
Qualifications

  • Registered Building Surveyor or equivalent professional qualification.
  • Experience with fire safety measures and HHSRS risk management (advantage).
  • Knowledge of climate‑emergency, energy‑efficiency strategies and building regulations.
  • Strong project‑management, specification and stakeholder communication skills.
