Overview
The Potter League for Animals is a nonprofit organization dedicated to promote, protect and advance the well-being of Rhode Island’s companion animals. As the most comprehensive animal welfare organization in the state, we impact more than 10,000 companion animals each year.
Job PurposeThe Veterinary Assistant supports veterinarians and veterinary technicians in providing quality, compassionate care to animals at the Potter League's Spay & Neuter Clinic in Warwick, RI in accordance with the League’s mission, goals and management philosophy. They assist with restraining animals for exams, giving animals injections and vaccines, preparing animals and equipment for surgery, cleaning surgical and office areas and equipment, assisting with discharges and administrative duties, etc.
The Veterinary Assistant will have the opportunity to be trained to assist with monitoring anesthesia, giving IV injections, drawing blood, completing drug calculations, and developing into a qualified Veterinary Technician.

Part-Time, 20 hours per week - Schedule:
Monday - Thursday from 9:00am to 2:00pm - Pay: $18.00 - $20.00 per hour, depending on experience, paid biweekly
