Responsibilities
  • Guides and supports the day-to-day branch retail operations including safety, retail sales, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Empowers and coordinates a team consisting of Counter Sales, Warehouse, Drivers, and Customer Service employees.
  • Reviews production schedules and estimates team-hour requirements for the successful completion of job assignments. Maintains time and production records.
  • Interprets company policies for the team and upholds a culture of safety.
  • Implements measures to advance production methods, equipment performance, and quality of product; updates working conditions and equipment use to support the efficiency of the crew.
  • Initiates or suggests plans to inspire the team to reach shared work goals.
  • Assists with the development and execution of marketing plans to support outreach and growth within key market segments in collaboration with Sales and Operations teams and outside vendors.
  • Coordinates sales promotion activities, merchandising, and displays, as well as opportunities for Airgas-wide transitions. Supports inside sales, sales growth, and healthy sales margins.
  • Collaborates with outside sales to ensure order integrity and properly scheduled customer deliveries by Airgas trucks.
  • Stw a rds branch inventory, daily hard goods inventory cycle counts, and maintains a welcoming showroom and warehouse appearance.
  • Coordinates all hard goods receiving and dynamic deployment for timely daily completion.
  • Leads and coordinates annual/bi-annual physical hard goods inventories.
  • Monitors SAP reports daily (open order/delivery, billing and delivery block, open Purchase Order reports) and provides Daily Cash Reconciliation (DCR), addressing concerns prior to deposit.
  • Facilitates professional growth and training in procedural areas, follows Airgas SOPs and safety guidelines; partners with hardware vendors to schedule monthly product learning sessions.
  • Coordinates branch operating expenses including overtime and office supplies. Works with corporate accounts receivable to support branch credits and collections.
  • Collaborates on additional projects as needed.
Required Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience in sales and/or distribution of gases and welding supplies or similar industrial products.
  • Two (2) years of prior demonstrated management or leadership experience.
  • Ability to work independently and under some pressure to meet deadlines.
  • Clear, direct and effective speaking manner for explaining information to customers and employees with a positive attitude.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Demonstrated planning skills: identifies requirements, allocates resources, sets actions, and tracks progress against goals.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Prior SAP experience is preferred.
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • May occasionally be required to lift and/or move up to 60 pounds.
