The Project Manager (UNFPA) position is a senior leadership role within Relief International’s Gaza operations. It is designed to ensure the smooth implementation, coordination, and monitoring of projects funded by the United Nations Population Fund (UNFPA). The Project Manager will oversee project activities focused on protection, GBV prevention, and SRH services
, ensuring they are delivered effectively, ethically, and in alignment with humanitarian standards.
This role requires a blend of technical expertise, management experience, and strong interpersonal skills. The selected candidate will be responsible not only for managing the operational aspects of the project but also for fostering partnerships, guiding staff, and ensuring accountability to donors and communities.
The Project Manager will play a central role in delivering life-saving and life-enhancing interventions. While specific responsibilities may vary, the general scope of work includes:
- Lead the planning, implementation, and monitoring of project activities in line with UNFPA guidelines and RI policies.
- Develop detailed work plans, budgets, and reports to ensure the project remains on track.
- Monitor progress and ensure compliance with donor requirements and humanitarian standards.
Technical Leadership
- Provide guidance on GBV prevention and response
, ensuring the integration of survivor-centered approaches. - Strengthen access to sexual and reproductive health (SRH) services, with a focus on marginalized groups.
- Oversee case management services, ensuring timely and ethical support for affected individuals.
Stakeholder Coordination
- Engage with UNFPA, local NGOs, government entities, and community-based organizations.
- Represent Relief International in coordination meetings, advocating for improved protection and health services.
- Foster strong partnerships to ensure cohesive and effective project delivery.
Team Leadership & Capacity Building
- Supervise, mentor, and support project staff, ensuring they are equipped with the tools and skills to succeed.
- Promote a collaborative team culture that values accountability, innovation, and continuous learning.
- Identify training needs and organize capacity-building initiatives for both staff and partners.
Monitoring, Evaluation, and Learning (MEL)
- Develop and implement robust MEL frameworks to measure the project’s outcomes and impact.
- Document lessons learned and best practices to improve future programming.
- Ensure that community feedback is integrated into project design and delivery.
