Construction Accounting Manager

• Direct month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring GAAP-compliant reporting across general ledger activity, accruals, and detailed job costing
• Oversee intercompany transactions, eliminations, and reconciliations to support accurate consolidated financial statements
• Manage all aspects of construction project accounting, including project setup, budget tracking, revenue recognition, margin analysis, and cost controls
• Review and approve construction draws, lien waivers, and retainage schedules
• Supervise Accounts Payable operations, vendor management, and cash flow forecasting
• Support treasury functions, including banking relationships and intercompany funding activity
• Strengthen and maintain accounting policies, internal controls, and financial procedures to ensure compliance and scalability
• Oversee sales and use tax filings and serve as a key liaison during audits
• Develop and mentor accounting staff to drive performance, accountability, and professional growth
• Identify and implement process improvements, system enhancements, and workflow efficiencies

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required; CPA or Master’s degree strongly preferred
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
• Strong GAAP accounting fundamentals are required, including experience with multi-entity consolidations and financial reporting
• Construction accounting experience is highly preferred, including direct exposure to WIP schedules, job costing, draws, retainage, and percentage-of-completion revenue recognition
• Prior experience within construction, renewable energy, or real estate-driven environments strongly preferred
• Proficiency with construction-focused ERP systems such as Spectrum and Quick Books
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities in high-volume, deadline-driven settings
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments and executive leadership
