Our HR team is growing, and we’re ready to welcome a new team member into our Corporate Services Team, based in Warwick QLD on a full time basis. Reporting to the Head of Human Resources, you will be working as part of our collaborative Human Resources team, and you’ll assist with everything from onboarding to supporting broader people initiatives and projects.
This role is for someone that thrives in meaningful collaboration, values driven work, and the chance to influence better outcomes for employees and leaders across the organisation. While you are highly organised, you understand that working in the transport industry, you are going to need to pivot and improvise with what the day brings.
Your key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Leading and managing employee relations matters end-to-end, including performance concerns, grievances, investigations and disciplinary processes
- Interpreting and applying awards, employee contracts and legislation to ensure high compliance standards
- Coaching and supporting our leaders with clear, confident guidance on complex and sensitive workplace matters
- Preparing thorough documentation, investigation reports and records
- Contributing to the review and continuous improvement of HR policies, procedures and systems
- Partner with the Head of HR to ensure alignment on strategic initiatives, including succession planning, organisation design, structure reviews, and change management
- Supporting initiatives that enhance workplace culture, employee engagement, wellbeing, inclusion and safety
- Play an active role in supporting all aspects of the HR Team
Skills Required for all roles:
- Tertiary qualification in human resources, industrial relations or law
- And / Or a minimum of 5 years HR related experience
- A good understanding of Awards/Agreements including the fair work act
- A full understanding of HR functions and best practices
- Fluent verbal and written communication skills with an ability to communicate with all levels of the organisation
- Excellent organisational skills and capable of meeting deadlines with an ability to plan and prioritise own work
- Outstanding phone manner and willingness to take reports
- Exposure to the transport industry is desirable but not essential
