Travel Radiology Technician

At the administrative direction of the Radiology Manager and the clinical direction of the Radiologist/Team Leader, independently performs all exams without any supervision within the section employed. Serves as a positive role model, while working in collaboration with all levels of departmental personnel. This is a temporary, 12 week position.

Responsibilities
- Competently operates all units of the sections imaging equipment including X-Ray, Mammography and Bone Density, while performing high-quality procedures in a safe and efficient manner.

2 . Review requisitions to determine proper room set up and amounts of radiation. Study views required for examination relative to patients anatomy and perform examinations.

3. Evaluate diagnostic films to ensure quality studies, having unsuitable films repeated as necessary.

4. Independently performs quality control procedures at the designated intervals on imaging and ancillary equipment to ensure compliance with Federal and Joint Commission standards of care.

5. Train employees and students in day-to-day procedures.

6. Collaborates, communicates and problem solves regularly with other divisions of the department and establishes ongoing lines of communication with other departments through meetings and discussions. Works proactively with other departments to facilitate patient access to the scheduling of exams.

7. Demonstrates competency in the use of all applicable aspects of the Radiology information System(RIS), Clinical Information System(CIS), Picture Archiving System(PACS) and other computer systems unique to each imaging section.

8. Participates in continuing education activities as required by the section employed.

9. Performs all other related duties as assigned.
