Supports To Empower People (STEP) is hiring a Psychiatrist, Part‑Time to provide community and residential services for adult men with intellectual and developmental as well as behavioral and mental health issues in Rhode Island. STEP provides empowering assistance in therapeutically receptive environments which allows participants to embark upon the clinical challenges encountered and to safely explore and pursue their dreams.

The pay range for this position is $250.00 to $300.00 per hour
. The listed range reflects what we reasonably and in good faith expect to pay for this role at the time of posting the position. The actual compensation an employee is offered may vary based on several factors such as experience, education, licensure, certifications and qualifications. This range may be modified in the future.

• Provide psychopharmacological consultation, assessment, evaluation and treatment for assigned caseload providing a range of psychosocial care.
• Prescribe all necessary medications and treatments according to established practice guidelines and outcomes of care and make necessary revisions in care plan.
• Assess and monitor the person served for safety and efficacy with medication management.
• Order, interpret and evaluate appropriate lab and diagnostic tests to assess their clinical health care needs. Based on the outcomes of diagnostic, lab and physical assessment findings, arrange for appropriate plan of care and follow up.
• Communicate with treatment team and collateral contacts such as PCP, community agencies, and families as appropriate.
• Maintain strong relationships with PCPs, families, and community partners; attend meetings as needed.
• Collaborate with the medical director, if needed, in the coordination and provision of psychopharmacological treatment.
• Provide direct care, counseling, and teaching to the person served and their families according to established collaboration protocols and standards of care.
• Provide quality mental health care that is person‑centered and goal‑oriented with a focus on improving the person’s functional level using shared decision‑making.

• Must be 21 years or older.
• Doctor of Medicine (MD) and Board Certified Psychiatrist.
• Active Rhode Island Medical License.
• Experience with individuals who have intellectual/developmental disabilities required.
• Must maintain a valid driver’s license, as travel between locations is required.
• Background and driving record checks will be performed.
