We are a dynamic growing group with a strong focus on efficiency, governance, and performance based in the beautiful country town of Warwick QLD. We are seeking an experienced Accountant to support the Group FC and contribute to ongoing financial and operational improvements across the group. Reporting to the Group FC, this role plays a key part in delivering accurate, timely, and compliant financial information at a group level.
You will be responsible for financial reporting, reconciliations, budgeting support, compliance, job and project accounting, and partnering closely with managers across multiple business units.
This is a hands-on role with broad exposure, offering the opportunity to influence reporting quality, improve processes, and support strategic decision-making.
Key Responsibilities
Financial Operations & Reconciliations
- Perform general ledger reconciliations, including wages and superannuation
- Perform daily receipting, bank recs and debtor’s follow-up
- Look after credit card reconciliations and Concur expense reporting
- Look after staff reimbursements, fuel recs, petty cash and Telstra bill.
- Prepare and post journals including payroll tax, accruals, employee entitlements, and hire purchase finance
- Ensure accurate treatment of prepayments.
- Maintain and update rolling cashflow forecasts
Fixed Assets
- Run and review monthly depreciation
- Reconcile the Fixed Asset Register to the general ledger
- Conduct three-way reconciliations between the plant, fixed asset, and insurance registers
Reporting, Compliance & Treasury Support
- Ensure compliance with accounting standards and regulatory requirements
- Maintain strong internal controls
- Assist with group budgeting and forecasting
- Support treasury activities and cashflow planning.
- Assist the Group FC to improve finance processes to drive consistency and efficiency
Year-End Accounting & Tax Support
- Assist the Group FC and external accountants with year-end statutory reporting
- Prepare work papers, reconciliations, and supporting schedules
Business Partnering & Performance Improvement
- Partner with ELT members, board stakeholders, and operational managers
- Assist the Group FC with monthly management reports and dashboards
- Provide insights to improve efficiency, productivity, and cost control
- Support continuous improvement initiatives through better reporting and analysis
Job & Project Accounting
- Track and report on jobs and projects including crops, livestock, workshops, capital works, and construction
- Ensure accurate allocation of direct and indirect costs
- Monitor budgets, progress, and variances
- Maintain accurate costing for agricultural, manufacturing, and repair activities
- Ensure correct accounting treatment of completed jobs (assets, inventory, repairs)
- Support improvements to job costing and project tracking processes
- Provide general finance support and assist with ad hoc tasks as required
About You
- Degree in Accounting or Finance; CPA/CA qualified or progressing
- Proven experience in a similar role (transport/logistics advantageous)
- Strong Excel (pivot tables, lookups, analysis) and ERP capability;
Pronto experience highly regarded - High attention to detail, strong analytical skills, and the ability to manage deadlines
- Effective communicator with sound stakeholder engagement skills
