Job Description
Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.
A Special Education Teacher position is available within an elementary school setting, focusing on managing a self-contained classroom. This role requires dedication to supporting 13 students with special needs, providing tailored educational experiences that foster growth and development.
Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement individualized education programs (IEPs) for each student.
- Conduct assessments to monitor student progress and adapt teaching strategies accordingly.
- Collaborate with staff, families, and specialists to support student success.
- Maintain a structured, supportive, and inclusive classroom environment.
- Manage classroom behavior and promote positive social skills.
Qualifications:
- Certification as a Special Education Teacher.
- Experience working with elementary-aged children in a self-contained classroom.
- Strong understanding of special education laws, teaching methods, and strategies.
- Ability to create individualized learning plans and modify curriculum.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills.
Location and
Schedule:
- Position based in Woonsocket, Rhode Island.
- Contract role with hours from 9:00 AM to 3:45 PM.
