Receiving Clerk I
Position Summary
The Receiving Clerk I is responsible for the accurate counting and receiving of incoming product. This includes reviewing supplier packing slips against the actual product received and noting discrepancies. Duties also include unloading trucks and organizing product for put away. Following applicable procedures related to Inventory and Quality Control is also required. The role requires the above to be accomplished within Tecomet’s principles of continuous improvement, customer driven innovation and a win-first culture, while meeting company financial objectives and other performance metrics.
PrincipleResponsibilities
- Properly accounting for the location of incoming goods
- Assuring no damaged items are received
- Comparing packing lists to company purchase orders and ensuring that the products in each delivery match the packing list
- Receiving incoming product into the inventory control system
- Packaging products for return to vendors and filling out any paperwork necessary
- Other functions and requirements may be assigned by supervisor/manager
- High school diploma or GED required
- 1 year relevant work experience
- Prior experience operating equipment such as a forklift, picker, or power jack
- Ability to work independently and exercise good judgment
- Basic math and computer skills
- Detail-oriented
- Ability to maintain accurate records
- Ability to lift 50 pounds or more
- Good communication and organizational skills
