Job Title: Shipping Associate (Levels I, II, III)
Position SummaryThese positions are responsible for moving, stacking, and loading all SWD products into trailers, box trucks, or trucks for shipment. This position requires using forklifts, pallet jacks, carts, and racking. These positions are very physical and require an extensive amount of lifting and maneuvering. Quality is at the forefront of this position; ensuring that products being shipped are correct and damage‑free is paramount to the position’s success.
EssentialJob Functions Level I – Loader
- Pull/Push product carts from the warehouse floor to the dock for loading.
- Uses hands or equipment to move garage doors, hardware, or related products.
- Loads “verified” doors, sections, products, and miscellaneous products by hand in a semi‑trailer as per shipment load list.
- Lifts, stacks, and assembles overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and/or assemblies.
- Secures all loads by shimming the product with foam or placing load bars or poles.
- Must know alphabet and numbers.
- Maintains a neat and orderly dock and warehouse area.
- Uses safe lifting, loading, and operating techniques.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Spots trailers for the day that need to be loaded.
- Instructs team members on where and what needs to be staged for loading the trailer for the route.
- Once the product has been verified, instructs members on what and how to load the trailer for the route specified in the load report based on size, quantity, and product.
- Uses hands or equipment to move garage doors, hardware, or related products.
- Lifts, stacks, and assembles overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and/or assemblies.
- Ensures loads are secure and loaded properly.
- Maintains knowledge of capacity planning of trailer or box truck.
- Maintains a neat and orderly dock and warehouse area.
- Uses safe lifting, loading, and operating techniques.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Verifies product by using load lists and/or scanner.
- Follows the route loading order determined by the supervisor.
- Once the product has been verified, instructs team members on what and how to load the trailer for the route specified in the load report based on size, quantity, and product.
- Uses hands or equipment to move garage doors, hardware, or related products.
- Lifts, stacks, and assembles overhead garage doors, track, hardware, openers, and/or assemblies.
- Ensures loads are secure and loaded properly.
- Practices correct shipping procedures.
- Reports issues, quality, or safety to the supervisor.
- Basic computer knowledge, ERP software, closing shipments, and creating documents for shipments.
- Communicates with the office team, customer service team, procurement team, and managers.
- Maintains a neat and orderly dock and warehouse area.
- Uses safe lifting, loading, and operating techniques.
- Other duties may be assigned.
- Preferred:
High school diploma or general education degree (GED).

- Forklift certificate - for levels II & III.
- Preferred level I forklift certificate.
