Due to the nature of our business and a heavy industrial market, this position is safety‑sensitive. Based in Warsaw, IN, the HIP Operator works under the direction of the Production Manager to perform critical functions related to equipment operation in the Control Room. Responsibilities include starting and monitoring units, sampling gas during cycles, and completing documentation for delivery to the end customer.
Responsibilities- Efficiently and carefully build and box the cycle, including loading/unloading customer parts onto, into, or out of the units, baskets, tubs, racks, or other containers as required.
- Independently operate, control, and monitor unit equipment as required by standard procedures on shop traveler and/or customer paperwork.
- Operate the equipment in the Control Room.
- Create or correct Load Diagrams.
- Update KPI Database.
- Conduct gas analysis, use proper compressor usage, and determine when to save reclaimed gas and where.
- Maintain optimal temperatures/pressures with allowed deltas.
- Disregard inappropriate thermocouples and position thermocouples for optimal readings.
- Determine venting temperatures and appropriate loading size.
- Follow established work procedures and control measures, including PPE where issued.
- Respect all guards, barriers, and permits at all times.
- Co‑operate in health screening and surveillance procedures.
- Report any unusual problem, irregularity, or concern to supervisor or management.
- Operate forklift and crane.
- Practice and promote safety and good housekeeping.
- Perform other tasks as assigned.
- Take care of customers’ inventory to prevent loss or damage.
- Must satisfy ITAR compliance: U.S. Citizen or Permanent Resident Card holder.
- High School diploma or equivalent.
- Prior experience with heat treatment operation and/or drinking/wastewater management.
- May be required to work overtime, any shift, including weekends.
- Must obtain and maintain forklift operator certification.
- Work standing for extended periods in an industrial environment.
- Manual dexterity for data entry.
- Ability to bend, pull, stoop, and reach.
- Lift up to 35 lbs.
- Exposure to heat, fumes, noise, humidity.
- Cognitive capacity to perform essential job functions.
- Effective oral and written communication.
- Visual acuity for reading documents, screens, files.
- Hearing in person and via phone.
